On June 3rd, 2021, just 9 days after the 1st Anniversary of George Floyd’s murder & the start of the Minneapolis Uprising, the City Government bribed the black men of ÁGAPE to desecrate George Floyd Square.
Paid $359,000 to do the city’s bidding, ÁGAPE started tearing down George Floyd Square at 4:30AM.
They say it was supported by residents and businesses, but something with widespread appeal doesn’t happen at 4:30AM with no notice.
They say it had been planned and communicated, but multiple Minneapolis City Council members found out about it on Twitter.
8 hours later Mayor of…
I’ll state it at the top here, because many have not understood my stance. The purpose of this essay is not to say that Lesbian cannot mean “Female homosexual.” Rather, my objective is to show that Lesbian means more than that single definition suggests. Female Homosexuals are lesbians, unless they personally do not want to use that label.
Now, on with the show:
Lesbianism is not about gatekeeping, and I don’t want to have to keep convincing people that the movement popularized by someone who wrote a book full of lies and hate speech then immediately worked with Ronald Reagan…
Justice for Oluwatoyin Salau.
Justice for Tony McDade.
Floyd Street, night of June 18th:
What looks like trench fortification in the foreground is a mound of flowers that went in a ring around the Fist. There was a clothesline right behind me where flowers would dry, potted plants in the breeze blocks, and an entire garden forming the secondary base of the Fist. It’s not the best picture, but zoom in! You can still see all the flowers…
We all live or we all die
It’s just that simple.
Reap cash off a man’s death and you will find your own seeping out from a thimble and going nowhere.
Cause money only trickles up but trauma flows both ways.
One of these days we all gotta pay for the track we lay.
Which way does it lead, lead by which companies. Which neighborhood does it ransack? Who’s son’s died on their knees?
From Tulsa to Rondo from Honolulu to York, we’re all just passing through on land that was never mine or yours.
It was the people we…
Pride was started by black trans women, the Stonewall Riots were started by black trans sex worker women.
And they threw bricks and we peacefully protest in the hope that nobody EVER has to RIOT for their RIGHTS again.
On Sly Stone’s There’s A Riot Going On, the title track is 0 minutes and 0 seconds. Sly Stone wrote of it “I felt there should be no riots.”
It was a hope in 1971 that we would never need to riot for our rights again. …
I’m going to start this off with an excerpt from The Guardian’s Poppy Noor:
Caught in the middle of a scrum covering protests in Minneapolis on Saturday, photojournalist Ed Ou could feel his hands and face were wet. For a long time, he didn’t know if it was teargas, pepper spray, or blood — in the end, it turned out to be a combination of all three.
Sheltered behind a wall in a pack of journalists, Ou had not seen the attack coming. He has documented civil unrest in the Middle East, Ukraine and Iraq, where he learned a few…
Dameon Chambers, known as Murphy Ranks, lived less than a block from where George Floyd died. He was a local musician, performing music influenced by his native Jamaica, but the activists of Floyd Square knew him most for his kindness and willingness to help.
Counterprotestor Keshawn Archer was known for just the opposite, harassing activists and threatening to kill people for weeks. Community members and protesters alike had reported him to authorities numerous times, but were denied and ignored at each turn. The Minneapolis Police Department refused to act, as a means of holding the city hostage and punishing it…
The agricultural revolution meant more health problems, more social inequity; more hardship and less time to rest after a hard days work. It made life worse for those experiencing it.
That doesn’t mean it was bad.
It was a cornerstone on a foundation. It let us go forward, even if it lead us backward.
The same is true for the industrial revolution.
This shift away from capitalism though isn’t technological but social, riarchal, the human shift that comes after the setting shift.
We get to see what it was like for peasants nearing the end of feudalism.
We can have…
Its so meaningful to me I didn’t think we had any good recordings of any of my good performances
“Yeah, of course. If I had ever had anything like that I’d never be able to look at it again… Of course, never really did anything like that, so”
I get that.
“Fragments of a past life I never really lived… It’s been an odd couple of years”
you’re safe to live in this one.
“Yeah.. Still working on figuring out how, but, w/e, I AM working on it”
This is me, as a collective entity, telling you
that you have fragments of a…
